Выставка Mitoraj в Пьетрасанта

Выставка Mitoraj в Пьетрасанта – A posthumous tribute that Versilia dedicated to the great Polish master passed away a few months ago.
An exhibition of the famous artist that will take place in the museum and squares of Pietrasanta from the 24th April to the 30th August.

Igor Mitoraj, artist known worldwide for his monumental sculptures of heads fractured limbs and torsos torn isolated was one of the protagonists of the cultural life of Pietrasanta of which he was an honorary citizen.
He claimed “I feel that a piece of arm or leg speak much louder than a whole body.”
In 1983 he opened a studio in Pietrasanta, in Versilia, near Carrara, an area he loved for its scenery as much as for the quality of its stone.

From New York to Tokyo museums and galleries around the world have hosted his works. Mitoraj put at the center of his artistic universe man with the shadows of the precariousness of life. Classical figures and tragically fell in contemporary days. He claimed: “I live for today and this is my way to tell it.” It was deeply inspired by the eclecticism of his master Tadeusz Kantor.

And the Little Athens (the “nickname” with which the town is known Pietrasanta) decided to pay homage with an exhibition dedicated to him and his works.
